The shoot was a collaboration between ALAS, Nadia Hernandez and Georgia Blackie.
The collection was born out of a fascination with nature close up; tiny movements of butterflies wings, symmetrical forms found in nature. In contrast, the night sky and its vast expanse of space encourage us to consider the beauty of this varied existence. Inspired by the artworks of biologist Ernst Haeckel, the prints are detailed and the colours are sourced from the palette of nature.
The telescope is symbolic of mankind’s curiosity with that which she/he cannot see; the creation of a lens through which she/he can view outer space… and on the other end of the spectrum, the microscope.
