"Telescope" Transeasonal Organic Sleepwear Collection by ALAS
The silhouettes in this collection are reminiscent of the golden age in cinema, where balanced composition and soft light enhanced classic style. It was in this era that ‘lounge’ was born; draped pyjamas and curled hair, time an illusion.
The prints were born out of a fascination with nature close up; the tiny movements of a butterfly wing, and the symmetrical forms found in coral reefs. In contrast, the night sky and its vast expanse of space encourage us to consider the beauty of this varied existence. Inspired by the artworks of biologist Ernst Haeckel, the prints are detailed and the colours are sourced from the palette of nature.
The telescope is symbolic of mankind’s curiosity with that which he cannot see; the creation of a lens through which he can view outer space… and on the other end of the spectrum, the microscope.
All garments in the collection are crafted from certified organic cotton sateen and brushed jersey, to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep in either hemisphere.
